TBRI® & TRAUMA-INFORMED CLASSROOMS

Children from ‘hard places’ have changes in their brains, bodies, and behavior.  They must feel safe in order to access their whole brain so that it is responsive for learning.  During the TBRI® & Trauma-Informed Classrooms Training, education professionals will learn how to disarm fear, optimize learning, and facilitate healing for vulnerable children.  Topics covered during this two-day training include an introduction to TBRI®, and the Empowering, Connecting and Correcting Principles as they relate to the classroom.  Participants will also hear from a panel of TBRI® trained education professionals, see what a trauma-informed classroom looks like, problem solve case studies through a ‘TBRI® lens’, and learn about Nurture Groups (therapeutic groups designed to immerse children in a safe, playful environment where they learn and practice new life skills) and how they can be implemented in a school setting.  Those that complete the TBRI® & Trauma-Informed Classrooms Training will leave with a better understanding of TBRI® and trauma-informed care, and will be better equipped to meet the needs of all children in their care.
