The Department of Psychology at Texas Christian University invites applications for the position of Instructor I in the area of developmental psychology, beginning in August 2020. Instructor is the first step in a promotional ladder that runs parallel to the tenure track and can lead to more advanced ranks, such as Instructor II and Senior Instructor. The successful candidate will be housed within the Karyn Purvis Institute of Child Development (KPICD) and contribute to its teaching mission.The candidate will be expected to teach four undergraduate courses per semester in the child development and psychology major curricula, provide service to the KPICD, and pursue continued professional development. Potential courses include case studies in child development, senior seminar in child development, professional development for careers with children, child psychology, lifespan developmental psychology, cognitive development, and introduction to psychology. Primary consideration will be given to candidates who have completed a Ph.D. in Psychology or Human Development at the time of employment and have a strong record of effective teaching in Developmental Psychology, with an emphasis in child development. Knowledge of Trust-Based Relational Intervention (TBRI) is also preferred.
