About the Seminar

Transforming Cultures of Care invites TBRI® Practitioners to explore how Trust-based Relational Intervention® principles extend beyond individual interactions and shape organizations, systems, and communities. The day focuses on applying TBRI® through leadership, data-informed practice, adult relationships, and long-term vision, recognizing that culture change begins with connection.

This seminar builds on the foundation of TBRI® Practitioner Training and is intended for those ready to consider how TBRI® lives in policies, teams, routines, and workplaces.

Who Can Attend

This professional development seminar is open only to individuals who have completed TBRI® Practitioner Training through the Karyn Purvis Institute of Child Development at TCU.

  • TBRI® Practitioner status will be verified for all registrants
  • This event is not open to TBRI® Caregivers or individuals without Practitioner Training

Who is this seminar for?

This professional development seminar is open only to individuals who have completed TBRI® Practitioner Training through the Karyn Purvis Institute of Child Development at TCU. Practitioner status will be verified for all registrants.

Is this the same as TBRI® Caregiver Training?

No. This seminar is designed specifically for TBRI® Practitioners and builds upon the foundational content covered in Practitioner Training. It is not a caregiver or introductory training.

When and where is the seminar?

Transforming Cultures of Care will take place on October 28, 2026, as a virtual, one-day professional development seminar.

What is the cost to attend? 

We are committed to making TBRI® Practitioner professional development opportunities accessible globally. Registration uses a tiered pricing model — please select the one tier that best reflects your financial context and capacity:

Pricing Tiers:

Global Access — $50

Designed for individuals working or residing in countries where the standard $250 USD registration fee would be financially inaccessible due to local economic conditions.
This tier helps reduce global barriers to training while maintaining the same full seminar experience.

Discounted Rate — $150

Available for individuals or organizations with limited professional development budgets who may not be able to afford the full registration cost.

Standard Rate — $250

Reflects the true cost of delivering the seminar and supports the sustainability of our training programs.

Pay-It-Forward Rate — $300

For participants who are able to contribute beyond the standard rate.
Your additional support helps make discounted and low-cost access possible for others around the world who need it.

    Is group registration available? 

    Group registration is not available for this seminar. However, we encourage colleagues attending individually to take advantage of the tiered pricing model, which is designed to reflect a range of financial contexts and capacities. Please see the pricing FAQ above for details.

    Who are the featured speakers? 

    Sessions will be led by KPICD’s in-house team of training specialists and staff, including institute leadership, faculty, researchers, and outreach professionals. The full agenda with speakers will be released closer to the event. 

    What is the seminar agenda? 

    A full agenda will be distributed to registered participants ahead of the event. At a high level, the seminar equips TBRI® Practitioners to transform cultures of care through the principles and practices of Trust-Based Relational Intervention® (TBRI®). Through keynotes, practical sessions, and interactive breakouts, attendees will explore applying TBRI® with adults, in workplaces and higher education, and through data-informed, upstream implementation. Participants will leave with a clearer sense of their personal TBRI® journey, concrete next steps, and resources to sustain mission-aligned, trust-based cultures of care.

      All live sessions will run approximately 9:00 AM–3:45 PM Central Time.

      Will continuing education credits (CEUs) be available? 

      Participants who attend will receive a certificate of completion, the conference agenda, session descriptions and speaker bios which may be submitted at their own discretion toward continuing education requirements depending on their licensing board or employer policies.

      What time zone will sessions be held in?

      All live sessions will take place in Central Time (CT). On-demand access will be available following the event for those unable to attend all sessions live.

      Will the event be live or recorded?

      The seminar will be offered live online, and on-demand access will be available to registered participants following the event.

      When does registration open?

      Registration opens in April 2026

      What languages will the seminar be offered in? 

      Transforming Cultures of Care will be available in English and Spanish and other requested languages. Participants can request their preferred language on their registration form. If you prefer a language other than English or Spanish, please register by June 30, 2026.

      Will accessibility accommodations be available?

      Yes. KPICD is committed to creating an accessible experience. During registration, participants will be invited to share preferred language and any visual or auditory accommodation needs so preparations can be made in advance.

      Will my TBRI® Practitioner status be verified?

      Yes. All registrations will be verified through KPICD records. If Practitioner status cannot be confirmed, the registration fee will be refunded and the participant will not be placed in the seminar.
